About Dear Career Confidant

Meet the Confidant: Strategic Career & Workplace Trauma Adviser

If you’re sick of general advice that doesn’t understand neurodiversity or hidden trauma, you are in the right place. Drawing from two decades of lived experience and professional strategy, I build tailored survival, exit, and growth blueprints for brilliant people navigating toxic workplaces, ADHD, and burnout.

My work is built on deep reflection—asking the difficult, crucial questions that most people overlook or avoid. I provide an impartial, non-judgmental sounding board to help you untangle complex workplace noise, explore real options, and guide you safely toward where you actually want to be.

With a degree in Communications, an award-winning track record, featured credentials across top publications, and experience speaking at major London venues like Olympia London, my expertise sits at the intersection of strategic communication, corporate operations, and workplace trauma recovery. As a multi-business founder and partner to key industry events, I’ve trained employees, scaled leadership teams, and guided professionals through high-stakes career transitions across the UK and beyond.

I am not a medical therapist—I am a strategic architect and careers adviser. I use visual diagrams, practical frameworks, and legal/corporate tools to show you exactly how past trauma intersects with current workplace triggers, giving you exact scripts and strategies to reclaim your power.

The Confidant’s Story

From High-Achiever to Complete Burnout, and the Unfiltered Journey Back to Me

If you had told me years ago that I would be sitting here today as a Careers Adviser, Startup Specialist, and Workplace Trauma Strategist, I wouldn’t have believed you. For most of my life, I was nurtured to perform, not to be.

I started my first business venture at 15, worked by 16, and constantly built side projects alongside my corporate jobs. On paper, I was ambitious and successful, but beneath the surface, I was running on hidden trauma and undiagnosed ADHD, trying desperately to fill a void of validation I never received growing up.

The Breakdown and the Silent Battle

In December 2020, my ex-husband walked out on me with no answers, throwing me into a complete mental breakdown. For three painful years, I was completely downhill, handling the fallout alone and watching my savings drain just to cover rent in an unforgiving economic climate.

At the same time, out in the real world, my professional leadership was exploding:

  • I won industry awards and received formal recognition across major publications.

  • I contributed a published chapter to an industry book, wrote for magazines, and reported for major UK networks like BBC Radio.

  • I built a thriving community of over 10,000 people and hosted sold-out events in the heart of the City of London.

Yet, because my self-worth was so low, I undercharged or gave my energy away for free. I was chasing external recognition to fill an internal void, and sacrificing my health in the process.

Uncovering the Hidden Pieces

Fed up with traditional systems failing to provide answers for my exhaustion, I took matters into my own hands. I went back to my old journals, pulled out colored pens, and allowed myself to draw visual diagrams without caring what anyone thought. The pattern emerged:

  • Deeply buried childhood and workplace trauma.

  • Decades of masked ADHD symptoms.

  • Neurodivergence and trauma triggers constantly colliding in high-pressure environments.

Realizing I wasn’t “broken”—just trying to operate in a world not built for my brain—was my turning point.

Why This Space Exists

For two decades, I operated inside high-pressure corporate environments and the UK public sector. As a top-performing Careers Adviser, I maintained a 96%+ client satisfaction rate while supporting individuals navigating intense career shifts.

I created The Career Confidant to be the space I needed when I was drowning in workplace stress: an empathetic, professional, and independent advisory that helps you step out of survival mode and into true autonomy.

What Makes Your Confidant Different

Most career coaches don’t understand trauma, and most therapists don’t understand enterprise operations and revenue generation. I bridge that gap:

  • Strategic Hybrid Approach: Mapping where past trauma meets workplace triggers using visual diagrams, boundary scripts, and step-by-step action plans.

  • Lived Experience with ADHD & C-PTSD: No need to explain or justify your executive dysfunction or overwhelm here.

  • Proven Commercial Track Record: Two decades of multidisciplinary experience consulting VPs, CEOs, and founders, and helping over 1,000 individuals navigate career and business launches.

  • 100% Authentic & Impartial: No hidden agendas, sponsored content, or generic algorithm chasing—just battle-tested blueprints.

Entrepreneurial Expertise & Startup Leadership

Beyond career advisory, I’ve built, scaled, and exited successful ventures from the ground up. My background includes:

  • Global Support: Guiding aspiring entrepreneurs and career-changers across the globe to turn chaotic ideas into revenue-generating business models.

  • City of London Advisory: Consulting directly with high-growth startups and corporate teams on strategy, execution, and leadership.

  • Sold-Out Events: Hosting high-demand workshops and speaking at landmark UK venues like Olympia London.
